Laura Sessa

Laura Sessa Romboli is a well-known award-winning Italian interior designer for some of the world’s largest and most expensive luxury yachts. She has become quite famous for designing yachts like Madame Kate and Chopi Chopi, as well as for designing the plush interiors of numerous other yachts, many of which are busy charter yachts.

At the Monaco Yacht Show’s 25th year inaugural gala, the luxury yacht industry’s who’s who attended to acknowledge and celebrate achievements in designing and building superyachts. Five yachts were recognized at the event, one of which was Madame Kate, which is a 61m (199 foot) Amels motor yacht with interior design by Laura Sessa Romboli.

The Madame Kate was, in fact, the only yacht to win multiple awards at the event, which had five categories that included the Finest New Yacht of the 2015 MYS, the Monaco Award, the Exterior Design Award, and the Interior Design Award, as well as The MYS/RINA Award for recognition of the implementation of technology that is eco-friendly. There was a judging panel comprised of consummate experts that represented every sector of the yachting industry and there were 20 applicants. The Madame Kate received recognition via two awards, the Interior Design Award for Laura Sessa Romboli’s designs, and the MYS/RINA Award.
